Judges and Commissioners in Titus County show support for Child Abuse Prevention Month
During Child Abuse Awareness Month, CASA Executive Director, Michelle Cobern met with Titus County Commissioners to up them on the numbers of abuse and neglect cases CASA served in Titus County. Judge Lee and Commissioners received a blue ribbon for Child Abuse Awareness Month and was asked to wear the blue ribbon for the entire month of April. Titus County Commissioners were very gracious in allowing Cobern to present information about new additions to the program like Enya, Texas CASA’s very first Courthouse Facility Dog. Cobern also discussed the need for the CWOP (Children With Out Placement) room which allows the Department a place to bring children on a temporary basis until a permeant solution can be found.
