Lyndi’s Love
Lyndi is an 11 year old young lady at has a heart bigger than TEXAS for children in foster care. Lyndi started her own ministry called “Lyndi’s Love”. Lyndi’s love started when Lyndi was a big sister to foster children in her parents home. Lyndi noticed children that would be dropped off late a night or at all hours with little to nothing of their own. Lyndi decided to do something about it! Last year Lyndi and her family started making body butter and having bake sales to raise money to help children in foster care. Lyndi’s first mission was a brand new stuffed bear with a hand made card by Lyndi herself. The card states that Jesus loves them and so does Lyndi. CASA children all over received a brand new Lyndi’s Love bear and CASA advocates watched as children held onto something they could finally call their own. Lyndi’s second mission was a backpack. Not just any back pack would do for Lyndi’s Love. Lyndi and her mom designed a back pack with Lyndi’s Love logo on it and made sure the back pack was washable and durable so children in foster care would not have to carry their belongings in a trash sack any longer. Lyndi has put smiles on children’s faces all over the state of Texas but that is not the end to this young lady’s mission and heart for children in foster care. Lyndi and her family recently raised money to provide each CASA child in foster care with a cookie cake for their birthday and balloons! Children in foster care sometimes get overlooked on special occasions but not with Lyndi in their corner! CASA is very humbled by Lyndi and Lyndi’s Love. CASA advocates and staff witness the trauma these precious children endure when they are victims of abuse and neglect. Not only do these children lose their homes, families, school, friends, pets and all their belongings, but sometimes get lost in a huge system. Lyndi is making sure she they are never forgotten during this difficult time.
